Normalize Rest

It's ok to just be.

In a world of rat races, constant production, and corporate junkies quick to reward those with the quickest and highest output, we’ve been needing to normalize resting in a bad way. The fact that so many people have a hard time quieting their mind in order to fall asleep at night, or much less meditate a few minutes during the day, desperately proves that we need to perfect the art of doing nothing on purpose, like yesterday.

Today, I should have spent more time just being, because I. Am. Tired. Blissfully exhausted from building my dream business, but exhausted nonetheless. Even when we LOVE our work, and it fulfills us, we still need balance it out with actual rest and relaxation. Not just for our wellbeing, but for our loved ones, as well.

Man, am I preaching hard to the choir right now. After this post, it’s bedtime for this girl.

Time is so precious, and it’s completely fine to spend a portion of it just being present. Instead of focusing on how many boxes you can tick on your to-do list every day, spend some time filling your own cup first from time to time, and see how amazing you feel after a while.
